ABSTRACT In this article, we analyze the artistic endeavors of Brazilian artist Denilson Baniwa, with a particular focus on how he portrays the indigenous cosmologies of northern Brazil within his work. The theoretical framework that supports the analysis is based on post-colonial studies and anthropological studies of the cultures of Brazilian indigenous peoples, especially studies related to their cosmologies. In the first section, we provide a brief biography of Denilson Baniwa, with an emphasis on his involvement in the contemporary Brazilian indigenous art movement. In the second section, we discuss the main theoretical concepts used in the analysis, namely, cosmopolitics and perspectivism. RESUMEN Este artículo presenta un análisis de la obra del artista brasileño Denilson Baniwa y se centra en la forma en que las cosmogonías indígenas del norte de Brasil están representadas en su obra. El marco teórico que sustenta los análisis se basa en estudios poscoloniales y estudios antropológicos sobre las culturas de los pueblos indígenas brasileños, especialmente estudios centrados en sus cosmogonías. En la primera sección, presentamos una breve biografía de Denilson Baniwa, con énfasis en su participación en el movimiento artístico indígena brasileño contemporáneo. En la segunda sección, se discuten los principales conceptos teóricos movilizados en los análisis; a saber, cosmopolítica y perspectivismo. RESUMO Este artigo apresenta uma análise da obra do artista brasileiro Denilson Baniwa e focaliza o modo como são representadas as cosmogonias indígenas do Norte do Brasil em seu trabalho. O referencial teórico que sustenta as análises está baseado nos estudos pós-coloniais e em estudos antropológicos sobre as culturas dos povos indígenas brasileiros, especialmente os estudos voltados para suas cosmogonias. RESUMO Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a recepção e a discussão do livro ilustrado O pato, a morte e a tulipa, de Wolf Erlbruch, com base em um trabalho de leitura realizado com duas turmas de 4º ano de ensino fundamental em escolas públicas de Porto Alegre-RS. A partir da análise de elementos estruturais da obra - principalmente a relação entre texto verbal e imagético - e da temática da morte na literatura para crianças, o artigo apresenta os resultados de uma análise sobre como os leitores infantis interagiram com as mensagens do texto de Erlbruch, negociando sentidos a partir de seus próprios repertórios culturais e cognitivos. Os principais autores que embasam as discussões sobre a morte e a literatura infantil são Fanuel H. Díaz, M. A. Katrin Hesse, Norbert Elias, Jan Reinhardt, Simone Weber, Teresa Colomer, ao passo que as análises sobre as múltiplas respostas das crianças à leitura do livro inspiram-se nos estudos sobre conversa literária, de Aidan Chambers.

ABSTRACT In this article, we analyze the reception of the picture book Duck, death and the tulip, by the German artist Wolf Erlbruch, based on reading practices conducted in two 4th grade classes of elementary public schools in Porto Alegre (state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). Our analyzes focus on the ways in which children readers interact with Erlbruch's literary text and make sense of its messages based on their own cultural and cognitive repertoires. The article also analyzes the book’s structural elements, especially the synergy between verbal and pictorial language as well as the way Erlbruch portrays the issue of death. Our discussions about death and literature for children draw on the studies of among others Fanuel H. Díaz, Norbert Elias, Jan Reinhardt, Simone Weber, Teresa Colomer, whereas the analyzes of the children's multiple responses to the book are inspired in the studies of literary conversation by Aidan Chambers.

Resumo: O artigo tem como objetivo analisar as representações do corpo indígena produzidas por ocasião da 14ª edição do Acampamento Terra Livre, realizado entre os dias 24 e 28 de abril de 2017, as quais foram difundidas e discutidas através de imagens e threads na rede social Twitter a partir de então. As análises situam-se no campo dos Estudos Culturais e os resultados apontam, de um lado, para uma representação que aposta na identidade genérica do índio como estratégia para conferir visibilidade às suas demandas sociais e políticas e, de outro, para disputas e embates em torno dessas mesmas representações.

Abstract: The paper aims to analyze the representations of the indigenous body produced during the 14th edition of the Acampamento Terra Livre [Free Land Occupation], which happened between April 24th and 28th, 2017, and that were disseminated and debated by means of images and threads in the social network Twitter from then on. The analyses are situated within the Cultural Studies field and the results point, on one hand, to a representation that considers the generic identity of the indigenous as a strategy to confer visibility to their social and political demands and, on the other, for disputes and clashes around these same representations.

Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma revisão do campo de estudos que articula literatura infantil e pedagogia, com base na análise de 69 artigos publicados em três revistas que focalizam a literatura infantil no Brasil: Leitura: Teoria & Prática; Tigre Albino; Revista Emília. As análises buscam evidenciar as principais questões levantadas, nesses periódicos, no que tange às dimensões pedagógicas da literatura infantil. Antes dos resultados das análises, contudo, o artigo apresenta uma breve retrospectiva histórica das principais questões envolvendo literatura infantil e pedagogia. Os resultados das análises permitiram concluir que a maior parte dos artigos enfatiza a importância da literatura para a formação do sujeito, trazendo propostas e sugestões para que sejam salvaguardadas as dimensões lúdica e artístico-literária da literatura infantil na escola e em outros espaços de formação.

Abstract In this paper we present a review of the field of study that links children's literature and pedagogy, based on the analysis of 69 articles published in three journals that focus on children's literature in Brazil: Leitura: Teoria & Prática; Tigre Albino; Revista Emília. Through the analysis, we seek to highlight the main issues raised in these journals regarding the pedagogical dimensions of children's literature. Before the results of the analysis, however, we present a brief historical retrospective of the main issues involving children's literature and pedagogy. The results showed that, on the one hand, most of the articles emphasize the importance of literature for the formation of the subject, on the other hand, they present suggestions to safeguard the playful, artistic and literary dimensions of children's literature in schools.

RESUMO Este artigo apresenta um panorama das principais transformações do campo literário devido ao surgimento da tecnologia digital e aborda algumas discussões e teorizações sobre leitura de obras literárias nesse novo contexto. As principais transformações apresentadas são a liberdade propiciada pelo ciberespaço para produzir e publicar textos em blogs e sites, a produção e o consumo de literatura na cultura da convergência, o fenômeno transmídia, a literatura digitalizada e a literatura digital, aplicativos produzidos para aparelhos móveis. Em seguida, apresentam-se algumas das principais concepções sobre leitura literária no universo digital. São abordadas inicialmente as discussões motivadas pela Teoria da Informação ainda nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, a polarização entre uma visão celebratória e uma visão apocalíptica, a partir da década de 1990, a concepção conciliadora de Nancy Katherine Hayles, que propõe um modelo que leve à sinergia entre habilidades mais vinculadas à leitura em suporte impresso (leitura profunda) e outras mais vinculadas à leitura em suporte digital (hiperleitura). Por fim, após alertar para o perigo do determinismo tecnológico em discussões polarizadas sobre a leitura no universo digital, o artigo finaliza defendendo a posição segundo a qual a leitura literária na era digital requer investimento em múltiplos letramentos, destacando-se o letramento literário e o letramento digital.

ABSTRACT In this article I present an overview of the major changes in the literary field due to the emergence of digital technology and I approach some theories about reading literary works in this new context. The main changes that I approach are as follows: the freedom afforded by cyberspace to produce and publish literary texts on blogs and sites; the production and consumption of literature in the convergence culture; transmedia; digitized and digital literature; book apps. In addition I introduce some theories about literary reading in the digital universe. I begin by addressing the discussions motivated by Information Theory, still in the 50's and 60's. Then I present the polarization between a celebratory and an apocalyptic perspective from the 90s, the conciliatory approach by Nancy Katherine Hayles, who proposes a model based on the synergy between skills related to reading in print (close reading) and skills related to reading in the digital format (hyper reading). Finally, after warning of the danger of technological determinism in polarized discussions about reading in the digital universe, I conclude this article by defending the position that literary reading in the digital age requires investment in multiple literacies, especially in literary literacy and in digital literacy.

RESUMEN El presente artículo presenta un panorama de las principales transformaciones del campo literario debido al surgimiento de la tecnología digital y aborda algunas discusiones y teorizaciones sobre lectura de obras literarias en ese nuevo contexto. Las principales transformaciones presentadas son la libertad propiciada por el ciberespacio para producir y publicar textos en blogs y sitios, la producción y el consumo de literatura en la cultura de la convergencia, el fenómeno transmédia, la literatura digitalizada y la literatura digital, aplicativos producidos para aparatos móbiles. En seguida, se presentan algunas de las principales concepciones sobre lectura literaria en el universo digital. Son abordadas inicialmente las discusiones motivadas por la Teoría de la Información, aun en las décadas de 50 y 60, la polarización entre una visión celebratoria y una visión apocalíptica, a partir de la década de 90, la concepción conciliadora de Nancy Katherine Hayles, que propone un modelo que lleve a la sinergia entre habilidades más vinculadas a la lectura en soporte impreso (lectura profunda) y otras más vinculadas a la lectura en soporte digital (hiperlectura). Por fin, después de alertar para el peligro del determinismo tecnológico en discusiones polarizadas sobre la lectura en el universo digital, el artículo finaliza defendiendo la posición según la cual la lectura literaria en la era digital requiere inversiones en varios letramientos, destacándose el letramiento literario y el letramiento digital.

O presente artigo apresenta uma discussão sobre a representação do feio em livros infantis alinhados com concepções multiculturalistas sobre a diferença. Para tanto, são analisados oito livros brasileiros escritos entre 2008 e 2010. Tomando como fundamento teórico o vasto campo dos Estudos Culturais, o texto prioriza a apresentação da teoria estética de Tomás de Aquino como exemplo de sistema teórico-conceitual que, embora situado historicamente, continua atuando sobre a produção de identidades e subjetividades até os dias de hoje. Uma das principais conclusões é que o multiculturalismo está atuando fortemente sobre a forma como são representadas as diferenças em livros infantis contemporâneos.

To examine the ways recent children's narratives that are in accordance with multicultural perspectives represent the aesthetic category of ugliness in relation to the concept of difference, this article analyzes eight Brazilian children's books from 2008 to 2010. Based on the field of Cultural Studies as its theoretical foundation, the article presents the medieval aesthetic theory of Thomas Aquinas as an example of a philosophical system that is still capable of acting on the production of subjectivities and identities until the present day. A key finding of this article is that multiculturalism has a strong influence on the ways differences are represented in contemporary children's books.
